Winemaker Bradley Brown welcomes you to the beautifully green vineyards of the estate property on Memory Lane in Boulder Creek for a festive Vintner’s Festival weekend of wine tasting and relaxation. The winery will be open, June 5 & 6, for the Westside Vintner’s Festival weekend, from 12 til 5pm.
Why not make plans for a hike in Big Basin Park before or after your visit to the winery? Big Basin Vineyards is just minutes from both Little Basin and Big Basin State Park, with miles of the most glorious and inspiring hiking within easy reach of the Silicon Valley. The wildflowers are amazing this year: have you ever seen Lady Slippers or paper Iris? Dusty blue-purple lupine are still dotting the swales, and the persistent rains bring more wild bounty with every day.
Speaking of bounty, come enjoy tastings of all the highly acclaimed current releases, along with barrel samples, live music, assorted cheeses and vineyard tours. Taste and purchase from this bounty of stellar Big Basin Vineyards wines:
2009 Rosé of Syrah – this lush and lovely wine boasts wild red-headed Grenache for extra punch and pizzaz
2007 Bald Mountain Pinot, Santa Cruz Mountains – a Burgundian beauty with style and grace
2007 Alfaro Family Vineyard Pinot, Santa Cruz Mountains – bright strawberry-rhubarb pie flavors from the Corralitos hills
2007 Fairview Road Ranch Syrah, Santa Lucia Highlands – a monstrous dose of white and black pepper, accompanied by knifelike flavors of cranberries, roasted meats and tarragon
2007 Santa Cruz/Monterey Syrah – a perfect blend of cool climate (Monterey) and warm climate (Santa Cruz Mountains) Syrahs, this one is a crowd-pleaser
2007 Mandala Syrah, Santa Cruz Mountains – big, velvety and as voluptuous as an Italian opera singer
2007 Odeon Syrah/Cabernet, Santa Cruz Mountains – this is Bradley’s “heart of darkness” wine, as big, inky and powerful as they come
2006 Rattlesnake Rock Syrah, Santa Cruz Mountains – from the famed Rattlesnake block of the estate vineyard, this one has a bite to it that you’ll not soon forget
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to visit this spectacular redwood-studded setting, home to wine grapes since the mid 19th century. Make a visit to Big Basin Vineyards a priority for your Vintner’s Festival weekend.
