I attended the 8th Annual Wine Tasting Benefit for Healthy Kids held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Thomas Fogarty Winery and Vineyard, located 19501 Skyline Boulevard, Woodside, CA 94062. The event was held to raise money for the Healthy Kids program that provides uninsured children from low-income families in Santa Clara County with access to health care services.
Here’s a short video of Emily Hennessy, Financial Director of Santa Clara Family Health Foundation, giving an overview of what the annual event is all about.
While I was tasting some of the Thomas Fogarty wines during the event, Rick Davis, tasting room manager, said a few words about the winery and the Healthy Children fundraiser.
I also ran into Laura Ness, AKA “Her Vineness”, a long time wine marketing person here in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. She names a few of the wineries participating in the event.
And last but not least, Bruce Robinson, who was at the event pouring for Burrell School Vineyard, was very entertaining as he channeled “Jack Nicholson” for us.
