by Laura Ness - HerVineNess on June 18, 2010

Pinot DaysWith summer comes the official start of Pinot Days, a much-anticipated ode
to our favorite grape, Pinot Noir.

Join winemaker Bradley Brown of Big Basin Vineyards,
as he pours his highly acclaimed Santa Cruz Mountains Pinots in the
company of 200 other world class producers of this Burgundian charmer
at Pinot Days at Fort Mason in San Francisco, Sunday,
June 27
. If you love Pinot Noir, this is the event for
you. This is the only Pin0t-centric event in the Bay Area that
showcases Pinots from all the renowned domestic growing regions . For
just $60, you can taste through the terroir of the Santa Lucia
Highlands, Anderson Valley, Santa Maria Valley, Santa Rita Hills and so
many more. Gourmet food purveyors, focused seminars that drill down on
specific regions and winemaker dinners at local restaurants, are all
part of the Pinot Days celebrations, which kick off June 21st with a
winemaker dinner at Roy’s, and tastings at wine bars all over town.
Join Bradley and an elite group of Pinot Passionistas for a seminar
called “In Trivial Pursuit of Pinot,” on Saturday, June
26, from 3pm til 5pm at the Fleet Room at Fort Mason
. Meet legends like Richard
Sanford, Greg La Follette and Jean Charles Boisset
for
this singular, incredible tasting, featuring 16 of the finest and most
highly acclaimed pinots on the market. Questions will be posed by
producers, and many will involve your palette more than your prior
pinot-knowledge, so don’t shy away from what will be a fun-filled,
educational, once-in-a-pinotphile’s lifetime event. Space is limited.

Bradley will be pouring for the Grand Festival Tasting on Sunday,
from 1pm til 5pm in the Festival Pavillion at Fort Mason. See you there!
