Big Basin Vineyards Open on January 16, noon to 5pm
At 830 Memory Lane in Boulder Creek

Come relax with some of winemaker Bradley Brown’s exquisite wine creations, while drinking in the beautiful scenery and endless greenery at Big Basin Vineyards. Nestled in the midst of the redwood forest on the way to Big Basin State Park, this off the beaten path winery is open rarely to the public and offers worldclass wines from some of the finest area vineyards, including the estate offerings.

Taste some of the best Syrahs made in the state, along with excellent Pinots, including our current releases:

2007 FAIRVIEW ROAD RANCH SYRAH
This Santa Lucia Highlands vineyard produces distinctive, spicy and full bodied Syrah every vintage. The ‘07 is our boldest expression yet. (91+ points Tanzer/90 pts Spectator/)

2007 BALD MOUNTAIN VINEYARD PINOT NOIR
The combination of deep sandy soils, elevation, and proximity to the ocean all contribute to the layers of fruit, great minerality and a strong mid palate of this Santa Cruz Mountain pinot noir.
(91 points Tanzer)

2007 SANTA CRUZ COUNTY & MONTEREY COUNTY SYRAH
Using Syrah grapes from several cool climate mountain vineyards influenced by the ocean, this wine expresses a distinct and ponderable regional character. (89 pts Spectator/90 pts Rhone Report).

Special Library Wines available: 2006 Mandala ($35, reg $40), and 07 Monterey/Santa Cruz ($25, reg $28)

Tasting fee $10/person includes a 22oz Crystal wine glass. Passport holders taste at no charge. Friends of the Vineyard will get two free passes.

DO NOT rely on your GPS or Google maps! (seriously, you will end up starring in your own episode of “Lost!”)

Note: this is the only day Big Basin Vineyards will be open in January.
