The 8th Annual Wine Tasting Benefit for Healthy Kids will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009, 1pm to 4pm, at the Thomas Fogarty Winery and Vineyard, 19501 Skyline Boulevard, Woodside, CA 94062.

Healthy Kids is a program that provides uninsured children from low-income families in Santa Clara County with access to health care services.

The cost per ticket for “Korks for Kids” is $150 and includes the opportunity to sample fine wines from prestigious wineries, including Burrell School, Duckhorn Vineyards, Poetic Cellars, Kathryn Kennedy, Far Niente, King’s Mountain, Loma Prieta, Rombauer, Generosa and Thomas Fogarty Winery, while enjoying hors d’oeuvres from award-winning restaurant, Le Papillon. Silent and live auction items will include travel adventures, winery tours and wine lots. Guests are encouraged to bring a bottle from their cellar to contribute to the auction.

To order tickets or for more information, call 408-874-1912 or visit www.healthykidsfund.org.

Eight years ago, one out of 8 children in Santa Clara County were without health coverage.  Through programs like Healthy Kids, this number has been reduced to 1 out of 33 or 3%.  However, the economy is greatly affecting the children in our community – every day parents are losing health coverage and budget cuts continually put the most vulnerable at risk.  Supporting Healthy Kids is just one way the community can help.
